CTRL+F is the easiest way to search for a (title) word.

You can already make a selection:

  • Publications: edited by Join For Water. Publications titled Action Research are the product of action research in a particular country. They are available only in the language of the country. These products are not always a written document, there are also e.g. documentaries among them.
  • Annual reports: the most recent, with activity report and financial report.
  • Evaluations: Join For Water regularly has an external evaluation carried out; we choose an evaluation on a transversal theme, because in this way we have all programs in all countries evaluated and so we can also compare and learn from each other.

Ituri is the first province in DR Congo to be able to submit a sector plan for "drinking water and the hygienic handling of water in households," as required by the new Congolese Water Law. CIDRI, Join For Water's partner, collaborated on the inventory of current systems, and a variety of (government) departments and drinking water management committees also had significant input into the drafting of the sector plan. This plan outlines the framework so that the provincial government can point the noses of all stakeholders in the same direction and increase effectiveness. It is a guide for every party that subscribes to the idea that every resident has a right to drinking water. The sector plan outlines as realistically as possible the desired situation for within 5 years and the role of everyone to achieve the goals. (French)

This article is about Protos’ experiences with faecal sludge management in Toamasina, Madagascar, and in Bamako, Mali.

17.	Ecological water quality assessment of the Mpanga catchment, Western Uganda17.	Ecological water quality assessment of the Mpanga catchment, Western Uganda

Ecological water quality assessment of the Mpanga catchment, Western Uganda 2016 - 37 p. - EN

The present study was conducted to support management activities in the Mpanga catchment by providing an overview on the current ecological quality state of streams and rivers within the catchment. Good ecological quality is needed to maintain the integrity of a river system and depends on the preservation of natural (chemical and biological) conditions of the water and the surrounding environment. To assess the ecological state of the Mpanga, chemical, biological and hydromorphological data were collected in the streams within its catchment area. The study area includes the Mpanga’s headwaters at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, the urbanised area of Fort Portal, the tea estates area downstream of Fort Portal and the downstream area in Kamwenge district until shortly before the joint of Mpanga with Lake George. Knowledge on potential human pressures and impacts on the Mpanga river ecosystem allowed to set up a monitoring map including key locations where these pressures can be assessed.
